Below are some of the most common questions we recommend asking before reserving a private home for your event.
Is the estate available on your preferred date(s)?
Before investing additional time in a property, confirm that it is available for your preferred event date, as well as any setup and teardown dates you may require.
Does the homeowner have plans to sell or renovate the property?
A property that is listed for sale or scheduled for renovations may become unavailable with little notice. As a precaution, it is worth researching the property online and discussing any future plans with the homeowner or representative.
What are the music restrictions?
Ask whether the property permits a DJ, live band, amplified sound, or acoustic entertainment. It is equally important to understand the event end time and when music must conclude.
Will there be access to a room or rooms for getting ready?
Many clients require space for hair and makeup, wardrobe changes, or private meetings. Confirm which rooms, if any, will be available for use during the event.
Will guests have access to the property’s bathrooms?
Some properties allow limited use of interior bathrooms, while others require luxury portable restroom trailers. Understanding this requirement early can help with budgeting and planning.
What is included in the rental fee?
Verify what is included in the quoted rental rate, including setup access, event hours, teardown access, furniture use, utilities, and any required staffing.
What is the parking and transportation plan?
Many private estates require valet parking, guest shuttles, rideshare services, or a combination of transportation options. Confirm parking requirements and restrictions before moving forward.

We are happy to recommend experienced event planners, production companies, florists, caterers, rental companies, and other event professionals once a property has been reserved.
Once we identify properties that align with your guest count, budget, event style, and logistical requirements, we prepare a detailed scouting agreement outlining the estimated rental rate, guest count, event hours, access dates, and other important information before any property tours are scheduled.
A scouting fee applies to property tours. If a property is reserved through us, the scouting fee is credited toward the rental fee.
