You will be the only wedding or special event on the property. Seeing another bride taking photos while you are taking photos can be uncomfortable. In the past, we have had weddings at beautiful hotels with some near misses with another bride and her photographer during our client’s photo shoot. One of the greatest advantages of private estate venues is complete privacy. Unlike hotels or public venues, your wedding or event will typically be the only celebration taking place on the property.
Most homeowners allow you to bring in your own licensed and insured event professionals, including planners, caterers, chefs, mixologists, entertainment, photographers, and florists. Our clients love having the versatility of choosing their own vendors. The only vendors that we do require owner approval is for rentals and catering, since we want to make sure there have not been any issues at the property. Additionally, if you are having a friend create your florals, they will need to have event insurance. Event insurance costs around $250.00 for a reputable policy and our office can guide give you some recommendations.
There is nothing more frustrating than trying to plan a wedding and having only six hours for setup. This can be a logistical nightmare for your vendors and the costs in labor can impact the budget. When you book a private estate, our clients have options for the setup day and teardown day. Having enough time will help your lighting, tenting, floral and decor vendors create a beautiful look and not have to work against the clock. Many hotels have events the day before and some hotels will have an event on the same morning as your event. Having additional access days also reduces stress for your vendor team and helps create a smoother event day for everyone involved.
While beautiful ballrooms certainly have their place, they naturally have design limitations. A private estate becomes a blank canvas where your planner can create an event that feels completely unique to you.
